Job Summary: The Cadaveric Lab Manager is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the cadaveric laboratory. This includes coordinating activities related to cadaveric specimen preparation, storage, and use in educational and research settings. The role involves managing lab personnel, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining a high standard of ethical conduct.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lab Operations:
    • Oversee all aspects of the cadaveric laboratory, including specimen procurement, preservation, and disposal.
    • Coordinate the preparation and setup of cadaveric specimens for educational and research purposes.
    • Ensure that the laboratory equipment is well-maintained and in proper working order.
  2. Personnel Management:
    • Supervise and train lab staff, including anatomical technicians and support personnel.
    • Schedule and assign tasks to ensure efficient workflow and meet educational and research demands.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
  3. Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and ethical standards.
    • Implement and enforce protocols for the proper handling, storage, and disposal of cadaveric specimens.
    • Collaborate with regulatory bodies to maintain accreditation and compliance.
  4. Educational Support:
    • Collaborate with academic departments to support cadaveric-based educational programs.
    • Facilitate training sessions for students, faculty, and other lab users on proper procedures and ethical considerations.
  5. Research Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with researchers to provide support for anatomical and medical research projects.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of research protocols involving cadaveric specimens.
  6. Documentation and Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate records of specimen inventory, usage, and disposal.
    • Generate reports on lab activities, including educational and research contributions.
  7. Qualifications:
  8. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (anatomy, biology, or a related discipline).
  9. Previous experience in managing a cadaveric laboratory or related field.
  10. Strong knowledge of anatomy, cadaveric specimen preservation, and laboratory techniques.
  11. Familiarity with relevant safety and ethical guidelines.
  12. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
