Job Description


  • Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing instruments, preparing materials, and providing chairside assistance.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient appointments, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and proper sterilization of instruments and equipment.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays, intraoral photographs, and other diagnostic images as needed for treatment planning and documentation.
  • Welcome and prepare patients for dental procedures, explaining treatment plans, procedures, and post-operative care instructions.
  • Provide chairside support to the dentist during procedures, including suctioning, retracting tissues, and assisting with anesthesia administration.
  • Perform dental charting and documentation, recording patient information, treatment plans, and procedure notes accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Educate patients about oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options, answering questions and addressing concerns as needed.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, processing patient forms, and billing procedures, as needed.
  • Maintain inventory levels of dental supplies and equipment, ordering supplies and materials as needed to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe and hygienic dental environment.


  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program or certification is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a dental assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and equipment, with the ability to assist dentists effectively during treatments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
