As Head of Marketing, you will report into the eCommerce, Digital, Marketing, and Loyalty (EDML) department – a newly formed group under our Commercial and Revenue pillar. With new leadership overseeing EDML, their focus is to grow core revenue and brand experience via consumer channels and supporting internal and external partners such as Corporate Sales and Abu Dhabi Tourism.

As the senior lead for Marketing, you will be responsible for cultivating commercial and strategic partnerships and collaborations with Abu Dhabi inc. to enhance the awareness of the Abu Dhabi destination. You will collaborate with key internal departments (such as sales, revenue management, guest experience and finance) to ensure alignment and integration of commercial marketing strategies across the organisation.


  • Develop and cascade Etihad’s Marketing strategy across the department to ensure alignment to overall targets.
  • Design, plan and lead large size strategic market research initiatives to collect information on trends and develop effective marketing programs.
  • Define and cascade guidelines on channels identification to ensure selection of the most effective and cost-efficient media to reach target customers.
  • Approve and lead competitors? benchmarking analysis initiatives to increase programs effectiveness and Etihad’s visibility.
  • Review KPIs and dashboards to identify areas of improvement and propose corrective actions.
  • Provide advice to top management on innovative marketing programs and new channels to support the adoption of effective strategies.
  • Support management in fixing potential risks and major issues to ensure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations to other department to support in the identification of the most effective channels to maximize marketing opportunities and commercial results.
  • Review and report to top management on major risks and issues to ensure they are addressed effectively and on time.
  • Guide, coach, and provide informal / formal feedback to the managerial team to contribute to leadership and professional skills development and to ensure results improvement.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs on team performance to lead individual and team development.
  • Develop, implement a comprehensive 360-degree Marketing performance measurement and management (MPM) approach to boost and optimize Marketing effectiveness, results, and ROI.
  • Demonstrate accountability in the identification and resolution of potential / actual risks and issues to boost Marketing effectiveness and ROI.
  • Establish, implement, and optimize a best practice (roadmap) approach at a strategic and tactical level to appropriately benchmark and optimize the Product (the what) and Delivery (the how),
  • Lead and report on initiatives to ensure proper monitoring of ROI.
  • Support in managing the departments by leading initiatives aimed at innovations identification and results improvements.
  • Drive the development of online marketing strategies, to ensure alignment with Etihad’s marketing, sales, and communication objectives.

Education & Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university in a related discipline.
  • An industry leader with 8+ years commercial marketing experience in either the travel/airline/retail space for globally renowned brands
  • Leading marketing teams to deliver and contribute against organizational commercial strategies and goals.
  • Experience in leading global agency relationships.
