Department Definition

The Communications, Marketing & Sales department takes an integrated approach to raising awareness of and amplifying Expo City’s rich and diverse value proposition, driving engagement, footfall and sales. The department also seeks to support the positioning of the UAE more widely by showcasing the UAE as a global platform for diversity, investment and prosperity. The Marketing & Communications team is responsible for the overall positioning of Expo City in domestic and international markets. This includes creating compelling stories and campaigns for a wide range of audiences across a breadth of platforms, liaising with internal and external stakeholders including the different business units to ensure consistency in message and identify opportunities for collaboration, and building relationships with local and international media. The team is also tasked with maintaining Expo City’s owned channels including digital and social, upholding the integrity of the Expo City brand and the spirit of Expo across all touchpoints, facilitating commercial media partnerships, providing technical and content services to broadcasters, and managing sponsorship and brand ambassador relationships.

Opportunity Responsibilities

The main responsibilities for the role include:

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Creation of social media content that will live on our channels.
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects (XD, Premiere and FIGMA a plus).
  • Experience working across and delivering both digital and social media-based design projects.
  • Keen eye for video editing and proficiency in using video editor tools.
  • Aware of the latest video trends that perform well on social media.
  • Work collaboratively with social media team to deliver concepts and ideas that connect with our audience
  • Overseeing the development of in-house creative materials including animation, video, and static assets.
  • Work closely with Social Content Managers on the delivery of Expo City Dubai social media content on daily basis
  • Share know-how and best work across company.
  • Keeping up to date with current design thinking and trends.


4+ years of concentrated experience with social media channels and deep understanding of digital marketing as well as:

  • BA/BS in Design, BIS, Media or Advertising
  • Bilingual (Arabic / English)
  • Proven ability to significantly drive engagement and conversion
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects (XD, Premiere and FIGMA a plus).
  • Understanding of the UAE social media scene, culture and trends. Preferred to have experience working on global social media campaigns for international markets
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios, both internationally and locally
  • Creative thinker who can be both innovative while execution-oriented
  • Able to work in an ambiguous, ‘internet-speed’ environment
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent team player and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
