Job Description


  • Assist chefs and cooks with food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and assembling dishes.
  • Prepare and set up ingredients, utensils, and cooking equipment for chefs and cooks as needed during food service.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils in accordance with food safety standards and hygiene regulations.
  • Operate dishwashing equipment to wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, and cooking equipment.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food and supplies in designated storage areas, following proper storage and handling procedures.
  • Dispose of kitchen waste and garbage properly, ensuring compliance with waste disposal regulations and procedures.
  • Assist with inventory management tasks, such as taking inventory, stocking supplies, and organizing storage areas.
  • Follow kitchen safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents, injuries, and foodborne illnesses.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down surfaces, and emptying trash bins.
  • Assist with other kitchen duties and tasks as assigned by kitchen supervisors or management.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment or food service industry.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff.
