ob Purpose:

Responsible to manage production of quality products at the right cost and delivered within the agreed times, along with Managing and coordinating the shift and employees.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as Production Supervisor in Perishable Food Production. (Sausage & Cold Cuts Processing)
  • Diploma or Degree in Food Science or any other equivalent professional qualification

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze production targets and breakdown into objectives for each workstation per shift – planning and organizing the shift employees in achieving daily Production targets.
  • Monitor and ensuring that all personnel adhere to work instructions and procedures
  • Responsible for optimizing machine efficiencies, controlling wastage, determining, and analyzing yield.
  • Conduct studies to discover ways to improve the efficiency of production processes.
  • Reduce the amount of defects or nonconforming products by providing reports to Management
  • Ensure that operators enter all production related data is entered on prescribed documents and that this info is transferred onto the SAP system
  • To analyze, investigate and resolve variances and provide data to Management.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of raw materials and processed food products. Stock control of all raw and finished goods and monitor shelf life and expiry dates, reporting issues to Management.
  • Ensure by assisting in monthly cycle counting and providing feedback in writing for variances
  • Coordinate with Quality Manager and ensure Production Team follows HACCP/ISO/BRC system
  • Ensure all company regulations and government legislations are adhered to.
  • Ensure employee development – Training and mentoring and providing skills development.
  • Increase employee morale and be able to handle queries of shift workers and request relative to personal health related matters, accommodation, yearly leave request.
  • Ensure processing staff are adhering to the Health and Safety procedures at all times.
  • Monitor attendance and Employee time Management and ensuring weekly timesheets are correct.
  • Participate in the maintenance of operational controls and compliance with HACCP audit and regulatory guidelines for all activities.
  • Ensure customer – service levels by producing quality products within the agreed timeframes.
  • Coordinate with Quality Team to ensure customer complaints are investigated and corrective action is completed.
  • Assist in the implementation of ad-hoc projects, as and when asked.
  • Coordinates with Maintenance Manager to ensure preventative maintenance is carried out on all equipment and that operators have the necessary training with regards to preventative maintenance and operations.
