About the Role:
To interface closely with the Research and Development Manager to create innovative, high quality, cost effective products and ensure the delivery of unsurpassed seasonings, spice mixes, recipes and ingredients for global portfolio using insights, culinary
art and consumer needs, in cooperation with relevant functions to deliver competitive advantage

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new products, improve existing products and process simplification in coordination with all concerns to achieve the departmental KPI’s
    • Responsible to execute pilot / plant scale trials for new products and validate the consistent production runs
    • Liable to conduct the internal and cross functional sensory evaluation session of finished products
    • Maintain master list of formulations, sensory sheets, trial evaluation records
    • Prepare/Modify the product usage instructions, functional claims, serving suggestions etc.
    • Perform the benchmark analysis and identify the key gaps in the product/process for improvement
    • Oversee packaging and label compliance related to brand updates, ingredients, nutritional fact panels, recipe instructions, nutritional call outs, etc.
    • Explore the cost control opportunities through formulation optimization, alternate raw material source development/substitution, process simplification and line losses reduction
    • Keep the track of stability studies of the new products for shelf-life declaration on the label.
    • Understand the competitive landscape and focus on market trends, consumer preferences, and business need that can be converted into new or improved innovative product concepts.
    • Provide support to Marketing and Sales on finalizing the business cases for new products
    • Prepare samples for customer presentations and participate in product cuttings providing support to Sales & Marketing.
    • Responsible for ongoing maintenance of recipes/formulations, methodologies and specifications.
    • Collaborates with Purchasing to source quality ingredients and supplies.
    • Proactively works to prevent process or product failures and continuously improve product quality by working closely with production to execute plans, process controls to ensure least cost, highest quality production.


  • Bachelors/Masters in Food Science, Food Engineering, Applied Sciences and/or Culinary Arts.
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience in a food industry with expertise in the product development of spices and salt
    having culinary arts background
  • Culinary Chef Certification
