Job Description


  • Greet customers as they enter the store and assist them in finding products or answering their questions.
  • Scan items, collect payments, and issue receipts accurately using cash registers or POS systems.
  • Handle cash, credit card, and other forms of payment in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including removing debris, stocking bags, and organizing merchandise.
  • Resolve customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist in restocking shelves, rotating merchandise, and maintaining inventory levels as needed.
  • Promote and upsell products, services, or promotional offers to customers at the checkout counter.
  • Follow all safety and security procedures to prevent theft, fraud, and loss of merchandise.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, returns, and exchanges.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure a positive shopping experience for customers.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a cashier or in a retail environment.
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic math skills and proficiency in using cash registers or POS systems.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in processing transactions and handling money.
