Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create Vision: Actively support the Managing Director in defining vision and Moonshot/acceleration plans for Emerging Markets; drive alignment among market strategy, Global Sales Strategy and Brand Leadership
  • Strategic Business Planning: Drive the development, evolution and implementation of Emerging Markets Strategic Business Plan across brands, channels and supporting functions aligned with global strategies; facilitate an annual strategy review and define yearly priorities (playbook)
  • Project Management Office:  Collaboratively steer, coordinate and prioritize cross-functional strategic priorities, support and track the implementation of key global and local strategic initiatives
  • Change management: Support Emerging Markets SLT in change management process following all major project implementations, proactively assess the need and drive the change (in business processes and organizational evolution) to meet the needs of brands, channels, customers and consumers
  • Management Support: Support Emerging Markets SLT (primarily Managing Director) in facilitating ongoing management meetings, monitoring and reporting business KPIs to key stakeholders
  • Business Intelligence:  Leverage internal data sources, global advance analytics capabilities, and external market intelligence research; lead analytical approaches to turn sales, brand and consumer data into strategic insights for winning the consumer; identify new business opportunities to achieve profitable growth for adidas in collaboration with functional experts. Share summary insights at least quarterly
  • Network: Build a network acting as focal point for local market, global functions and other key support functions to ensure identification of relevant projects. Actively contribute to the network by demonstrating examples of alignment to global strategies
  • Leadership: Lead team and foster a high-performance culture within the team; develop and retain key talents

  • Global PMO and Strategy Offices, including IT, Finance, Operations, HR

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Business Development leader with proven track record of successfully managing complex cross-functional projects across multiple geographies, cultures (ideally with Marketing or Sales or Operations experience)
  • Strong strategic acting and high visionary thinking as well as operational skills
  • Proven project management skills
  • High degree of commercial and business acumen knowledge
  • Proven leadership and managerial skills
  • High personal impact and high communication skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English is a must. Skills and abilities in other language are an added plus

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of project management experience within large sales organization or in the consulting industry
  • Preferable experience in the sport or clothing wholesale industry
  • Experience successfully leading, managing and developing a team
  • Business degree from leading business school
