About The Role

In this 2 year contract, your core responsibility will be to evaluate and manage reconciliation of data points between financials and tax returns thereby ensuring the underlying process, systems and reports are functioning as designed from tax compliance perspective.

What You’ll Be Doing

·       Core responsibility to evaluate and manage reconciliation process and thereby ensuring the underlying process, systems and reports are functioning as designed from tax compliance perspective.

·       Drive the process to ensure completeness and accuracy of the base reports used by the Tax team to prepare their submissions and reconciliation of data between the financials and tax returns.

·       Assist Regulatory Accounting & Tax Manager in ensuring an efficient and effective Tax process flow in the organization.

·       Completeness and accuracy of base reports used by Tax team to prepare their submissions.

·       Manage a team of analysts, providing guidance and mentorship as needed.

·       Review, recommend and drive system improvements for reporting / processing tax returns.

·       Optimize tax efficiencies in all end to end processes.

·       Liaise with IT teams or external service providers to address tax changes, implement new systems, and resolve process / compliance issues.

·       Perform regular audits to ensure tax compliance and identify potential tax risks.

·       Carry out reconciliation of various data points in tax returns vs financials and safekeep back-ups / records for use during tax audits.

·       Support Tax Manager Retail in coordination with BU Finance teams to manage efficient tax processes ensuring compliance with local laws and accounting standards; (review of VAT/Tax assessments, VAT/Tax payments, VAT/Tax refunds, audits, etc).

·       Keep up to date with new laws/ guidance and updates released by FTA and other Tax authorities and determine the impact on compliance processes and relevant changes.

·       Support Tax Manager Retail in development & implementation of any new VAT/Tax principles released by the relevant authorities.

·       Support Tax Manager Retail in managing tax audits and assist in the coordination of appeals/ reconsideration requests ensuring all data is compiled to support tax positions taken.

·       Provide input from a compliance perspective into the development of company policies.

·       Cooperate with other functions and provide support by answering VAT/Tax related queries.

·       Work collaboratively with other departments to implement tax planning strategies.

About You


  • Bachelor’s degree – Major in Finance, Accountancy and / or Tax.
  • Qualified CA, CPA, ACCA equivalent.


8 years’ experience in accounting function in a mid-large size business operation.

Other requirements:

  • Working knowledge and exposure to major ERPs, BI tools and an advanced excel skills.
  •  Data analytics experience (working with large data).
  •  Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis software.
  • Knowledge of GCC tax regulations is an advantage.
  • You take ownership and responsibility of your tasks.
  •  Should have good organizational and planning abilities including the ability to deal with/work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Should have good analytical, numerical, research skills and attention to details.
  • Should have strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Should have strong interpretation capabilities.
  • Ability to navigate self under complex situation.
  • Excellent written and oral English is essential.
  • Arabic language (would be an advantage).
