Role Purpose:
The VP Operations Grocery Retail is responsible for defining and executing the local operations strategy in line with organizational objectives and developed strategies, specifically focusing on grocery retail operations. The role holder is responsible for the results of the business units and leading the district managers in line with the expansion plan of the company.
Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Performance ManagementOversee the proper conservation and utilization, and profitability of the assets in the country, with a specific emphasis on grocery retail.Elevate skills and capabilities of the operations team to deliver on the fundamentals & future growth plan.Propose and control the application of investments that reinforce the notion of discount, productivity and profitability.Initiate comparative studies within the country that can contribute to the efficiency of the commercial conceptsOversee the financial aspects in terms of Financial KPIs, Budget and DOA; and participate in the return of investment on current operating projects. Strategic PlanningParticipate in the development of the national concept and oversee its application within the country.Strengthen our formats and ensure an omni-channel approach is in place, with specific attention to grocery retail operations.Lead expansion aligned with the strategyEnsure the implementation of our commercial strategy and control its execution on a store levelReview market information and propose corrective actionsOversee the development of MAF Retail’s corporate policies and procedures, and monitor the implementation in the assigned market.Oversee the application of the product assortment structure and the quality of product presentationRoll out ,lead and successfully close efficiency programs Business OperationsFollow up new projects during the whole project phase and coordinate synergies between business unitsImplement Omni-integration & build future grocery retail specialized Talents.Oversee the promotional image is maintained in the countryEnsure the application of the stores action plans in line with the overall country strategy.Oversee the establishment of a competitive assortment offer, to secure MAF Retail as a leader in the grocery retail market.Oversee the sales dynamics and retailtainment (attractive display, ambiance etc.) in the countryMonitor the quality of services offered to clients in the countryOversee that the stock level contributes to the optimisation of the working capitalOversee the appropriate application of the business cycle Human Capital ResponsibilitiesEnsure the implementation of the performance management processEnsure proposer execution of organization health index action plan on ground.Provide mentorship for the purpose of developing a continuous talent pipeline for key rolesIdentify training needs and coordinate with the HC department to ensure facilitation of training requirementsOversee the development and implementation of on the job-trainingEnsure constant availability of the required competent staff to support the organization in meeting all its responsibilities, plans, and objectives, giving due consideration to grocery retail.Provide inputs while developing MAF Retail’s corporate policies and relevant procedures, with a specific focus on grocery retail.
